This is an hourly position. No health benefits are offered with this position.
To assist Montebello Fish Hatchery with daily operations to include fish culture duties related to hatching, rearing, and stocking.
Maintaining accurate hatchery records.
Performing maintenance and landscaping work with the use of small hand tools and equipment.
Assisting with maintenance of grounds and facilities to ensure safe and secure operation.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of fish culture and/or animal care.
The ability to work in an outdoor environment and inclement weather.
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
A valid Virginia driver’s license, or the ability to obtain.
The ability to communicate and interact with the public.
The ability to work with minimal supervision at times.
The ability to understand/comprehend written and verbal directions/instructions.
The ability to operate power tools and motorized equipment.
Basic mechanicals skills.
Basic carpentry and plumbing skills.

Preferred Qualifications

A valid Virginia CDL license preferred.
