JOB SUMMARY: The Demand Planner is responsible for creating an accurate and achievable collaborative consensus plan in close partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Finance. This key position must be able to facilitate and drive results in a fast paced and demanding growth environment, leveraging his/her strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Additionally, the Demand Planner plays a critical role in the monthly S&OP process and will be the key resource for all demand related issues. This role will be challenged to continue development of best practices and standardized processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes, maintains, and refines planning software to model and create statistical demand forecast.
Partners with Sales and Marketing to understand historical sales, market trends, seasonality, product mix, sales events, marketing promotions, and other factors which influence the forecast.
Provides ad hoc analysis to support decision-making by Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
Partners with Marketing, Sales, New Product Development (NPD), and Production when planning line extensions and new products.
Compiles and validates monthly demand data to evaluate gaps between forecasted and actual sales.
Working with the Inventory Control and Planning departments, tracks inventory to prevent out of stock and overstock.
Executes S&OP decisions, creates and validates forecast reporting to ensure production meets sales requirements.
Creates and delivers a monthly performance metrics dashboard.
Works with Power Business Intelligence (PBI) tools to create and continually improve reporting and metrics.
Subject matter expert for demand planning process within Gaia as it relates to tools, ERP and modeling.
Manages the global S&OP demand process for all products in collaboration with Sales, Finance & Supply Chain.
Collaborates across the organization to ensure that the appropriate data is available and accurate to be reviewed at the S&OP process meetings.
Prepares all data and metrics for demand related S&OP meetings and reviews. Identifies gaps and scenarios that will be presented. Guides final decision making on open items including trade-offs and risk mitigation proposals.
Leverage Gaia’s S&OP processes to deliver a collaborative, consensus-driven demand plan that optimizes the balance between market opportunity and supply capability.
